Dance > Petite Allegro

Petite Allegro Classes

Petite Allegro is a new approach to ballet training for the young child, ages 3 through 8.  It is designed to engage and inspire young children by teaching to specific developmental stages, Petite Allegro will awaken the artist in young students.  They will learn in a warm, family friendly environment where their creativity will be fostered and channeled into learning the earliest elements of classical ballet training.

Petite Allegro is…..FUN & CREATIVE!
•    Classical fairy tale ballets are used within class as a means to motivate & inspire young dancers to learn basic skills needed for ballet.
•    The use of imagination is a key element in our teaching as we draw on the young child’s thrill of make-believe.
•    Scarves, balls, and other props are used to create interest in basic movements and help the young students understand the specific dynamic of individual steps.
•    Girls will enjoy wearing our dress code leotard with matching pretty skirt. Boys are welcomed & taught to move in appropriate manly ways. Costumes for the End of the Year Performance are appropriate and motivating.
•    Students will receive achievement awards at the end of each semester acknowledging their hard work and strengths.

Petite Allegro is…..FAMILY FRIENDLY WITH PARENTAL INVOLVEMENT
•    Lesson plans are posted in the lobby for parents to see what their child will be doing & learning in class.
•    Teaching aids such as work sheets, CDs, & homework suggestions are sent home to help the dancer remain engaged with the class throughout the week as well as provide more insight to the parents.
•    Multiple Observation Days –Family Days--are scheduled throughout course of the year for family and friends to come support the work of the young students
