Welcome to the Academy at DaySpring!

The Academy is a resource for homeschooling families with two complementary programs.

• The Core Program offers two days in class and teacher assigned activities for the days at home.
• The Enrichment Program takes place on Wednesdays and Fridays and offers a choice of classes up to one full day in the arts and academics.
• The A La Carte Program allows students in grades 8 and up to take one day a week or two day a week classes in just the subjects they choose.
• The full resource of the School of the Arts is also available in tandem with these other resources.

Families may choose the Core Program, the Enrichment Program, or both to provide a rounded education. In either, the parents continue to homeschool, to keep their own records and carry the responsibility for their child's education, but the planning, social interaction and class teaching is provided by The Academy.

What is The Academy's educational philosophy?

We believe that if you teach a child to think and to enjoy education, they will be successful and become life-long learners. Our teaching style and curriculum choices reflect that belief. We aim to provide a creative and comprehensive education with a hands-on, problem solving approach, becoming increasingly structured in the upper grades to prepare the students for continued success. We seek to motivate and equip students of all abilities to reach their full potential. Personal responsibility is encouraged and many opportunities for character development are pursued. Although we do not teach a Bible class, the Bible is at the center of all we do, and we enjoy supporting parents in helping the students as they grow in God.

Our classes and curriculum choices stem from these philosophies. As a result you will find children engaged in active education, solving real life problems, reading enthusiastically and writing to high standards. We will find out their individual levels and then take them further, encouraging excellence and diligence in all they do.

Our teachers are well qualified and experienced professionals committed to God with proven godly character. Many of them are also parents and homeschoolers themselves.
